NTT SmartConnect Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, President and CEO: Kento Miyaoku, hereinafter referred to as "NTT SmartConnect") is pleased to announce the opening of a connection point for Megaport Japan K.K. (Headquarters: Brisbane, Australia, CEO: Michael Reid, hereinafter referred to as "Megaport"), a global network service provider, at its Sonezaki Data Center on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

Megaport provides a multi-cloud connectivity service that connects more than 975 data centers and over 410 service providers, including Amazon Web Services^※1, Microsoft Azure^※2, Salesforce^※3, and others. By leveraging this service, clients can achieve flexible bandwidth adjustments, cost savings, rapid deployment improvements, and efficient connections to a variety of cloud services.

Additionally, this milestone marks the first-ever launch of Megaport's Internet Exchange (IX) service, "MegaIX," in Japan, offered from the same location.

Moving forward, NTT SmartConnect will continue working in collaboration with Megaport to support customer business efficiency and global expansion.

"MegaIX" is an Internet Exchange (IX) service provided by Megaport that delivers a fast and low-latency traffic exchange platform for global cloud providers, content providers, ISPs, and enterprise businesses. ■ Connection via Dojima Connect Available

NTT SmartConnect’s "Dojima Connect" service connects all buildings and housing rooms in the company’s data centers via optical cable. With high- quality and cost-effective optical cabling, this service enables the effective and efficient construction of networks, improving customer network performance while reducing costs. Clients utilizing NTT SmartConnect's other Osaka-based locations, apart from the Sonezaki Data Center, can also access Megaport services through Dojima Connect.
